The Atlantic offers a wide collection of tempting items in its spacious new store on Federal Street. Shopping at this store should be on your to-do list.
Colleen Darby Wurts started this business in a colleague’s Sconset garage. She dedicated her energy to hand-picking choice antiques, and the business was a success after spending three summer weekends there. Then, she acquired a small room downtown on Easy Street for 2 years, subsequently relocating to the barn on Straight Wharf for 5 years. During this period, she added a ladies’ boutique to her selection. When a space on 16 Federal St building became available, it provided an ideal change for Colleen to expand her business.
Antiques, art, jewelry, and fashion blend effortlessly in this island-welcoming lifestyle space. Its selection of items is edited with a keen eye for craftsmanship and artistry. You’ll find amazing functional art, such as the porcelain tea lights by Lilach Lotan.
In the clothing and fashion category, the founder looks for similar traits as she does in her home furniture. She always goes for less-known brands that offer the highest level of craftsmanship and creativity. For instance, the store offers high-end products like Casa Isota’s hand-crochet bags. Skilled artisans make the bags, exuding a casual stylish Italian look.
In her clothing selection, there are eccentric brands like Megan Park, an Australian whose artistic receptivity is a great fit. There is also Belgian Sofie D’Hoore, which is a rare find in the US.
Do not forget to check out their collection of unique jewelry. Among the best is RISD grad Annette Ferdinandsen. The subtle nature-inspired jewelry expresses corals, leaves, birds, and feathers.
Lastly, The Atlantic store has the most stunning collection of contemporary home items and vintage furniture. Check out classic table settings while perusing the back shelves.
